Move it!

Moving house is over-rated. And I've only really done it once before as a married man with accoutriments (that's what your wife fills the place with, by the way), although surely that time counts for double given that it was all the way from Japan to Glasgow.

Now we're off to London, in a big van. At least, we will be on Friday, once we've packed it up on Thursday. We're due to arrive in London on Saturday morning.

We got a flat sorted out at the very last minute, after several other options fell through, just the day before we had to come back up to Scotland for a Scripture Union Camp at Glenshee that finished at the weekend. And this came right off the back of a weekend conference with Japan Christian Link in Hertfordshire. It's been a busy fortnight, with little time for packing and preparation, but at least we've got this week.

The flat we're moving to is a little bit bigger than the one we're moving from. It's a conversion as opposed to a purpose-build, and it's on the first floor (日本の2階) with windows to the front and back. It's allegedly 2-bedroom, but the "bedrooms" are tiny. It's also allegedly got running water, and a sink in the kitchen, which weren't there when we looked at it. It doesn't have a telephone connection or a tv socket, so we're going to be a bit cut off initially.

But despite reservations, we believe God has provided this place for us, and we're thankful for it, just as we have been for our flat in Glasgow. It's so hard to leave behind friends here, and saying goodbye to our church family at the weekend was very sad. We are thankful for you all, and we love you!

If you want to write to us, or come and visit, please do! We'll tell you the address etc. if you get in touch.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
